Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said he would run for President in 2024 if former President Donald Trump ultimately decides not to, according to a report from the New York Post.
“I support Donald Trump for president. I’ve directly encouraged him to run and he gives me every indication he will,” Gaetz told the New York Post on Wednesday. “If Trump doesn’t run, I’m sure I could defeat whatever remains of Joe Biden by 2024.”
Although the Florida congressman has not yet formally launched an exploratory committee, a source told the New York Post that Gaetz has “clearly been vetted and smeared like a presidential candidate.”

One congressman who signed the letter, Dean Phillips of Minnesota, was chastising a fellow Democrat, Ilhan Omar, in a neighboring district, though Phillips did not use her name.
“Elected officials have used reckless, irresponsible antisemitic rhetoric,” said the letter sent Tuesday.
Along with Phillips, the other signers are Reps. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, Elaine Luria of Virginia and Kathy Manning of North Carolina. They do not name their targets but include direct quotes of their controversial comments.

A top Trump campaign fundraiser rebuked Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for making yet another Holocaust comparison, equating COVID-19 restrictions with the Nazi persecution of Jews.
“WTF is wrong with you? I think you need to pay a visit to the US Holocaust Museum. I’d be happy to arrange,” Jeff Miller wrote in a Tuesday Twitter post. Miller is also a member of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Council.

Georgia Judge Unseals More Than 145,000 Absentee Ballots For 2020 Fraud Probe

After months of consideration, a judge in Fulton County, Georgia, has ruled that absentee ballots from the 2020 presidential election will be unsealed and examined for evidence of fraud.
Henry Superior Court Judge Brian Amero said in a hearing Friday that Fulton election officials will be required to keep ballots in their custody. More than 145,000 ballots will be analyzed. The decision comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed by voting integrity advocate Garland Favorito, who determined county workers may have recorded individual votes multiple times, and eight others. His lawsuit directly points to footage of the counting process and statements from individuals who observed the counting. There have been dozens of election-related lawsuits in Georgia.

Republican Georgia gubernatorial candidate Vernon Jones on Monday argued against the teaching of critical race theory in public schools.
Jones, who is challenging Gov. Brian Kemp (R), called the method of teaching “racism” that should not be taught in schools because it is “being abused.
“I’m against it,” Jones told Fox Business Network “Mornings with Maria.” “You know, Maria, if you asked 10 different people what is critical race theory, you get 10 different answers. So, we do know one thing that everybody knows is race-based. And if you teach it in school, it’s racism.”
