The Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra has downgraded the security cover of a number of prominent opposition leaders, including BJP Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Devendra Fadnavis and his family, former Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik, and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.
It has also withdrawn the security cover of BJP State president Chandrakant Patil.
The leaders of the farmers agitation in Delhi should discuss with the Centre on the three farm laws and try to resolve the issue as the government is ready to amend the laws, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said on Saturday. While the farmers leaders want the farm laws to be repealed, the government is explaining to them that the new legislations are aimed at helping the farmers cause, he said.
