From cupboard rooms to spider-ridden sheds, how five people made WFH work for them

WHEN we made the abrupt shift to working from home back in March, most of us had to scramble to create makeshift offices where we could get our work done in peace. Kitchen tables, console tables and even ironing boards were used as desks. Office chairs were begged, borrowed and ordered. Bathrooms became the only quiet space in which to conduct Zoom calls. Now, after almost a year of trial and error, we’re beginning to hit our stride. We’ve found quiet spaces around the house where we can focus without distraction. Garden Guru: Low-growing plant perfect for stepping stone path

Garden Guru: Low-growing plant perfect for stepping stone path Norman Winter The Garden Guy was looking at photos of last year’s trials and I was struck by one of a mecardonia. Mecardonia probably conjures up visions of one of the stops Moses and the Israelites made while looking for the promised land. I have never written about this plant and was thinking there is a great chance my readers do not know how wonderful and tough as nails it is, particularly the award-winning GoldDust. GoldDust, a Proven Winners selection, has won 67 awards from north to south and east to west. It was a top performer at Penn State, University of Georgia, Tennessee, Cornell, South Dakota State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, and the list goes on for pages. This speaks volumes.
