PHOTO: FILE RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Tehsil Council has prepared a tax-free surplus budget for 2021-22 worth Rs582.5 million which will be presented for approval next week. In the budget, Rs115 million is earmarked for salaries while Rs450 million for development schemes. The council will organise a youth festival and traditional fairs in the district under this budget. Funds of Rs5 million have been kept for these fairs. Rs3.5 million will be provided for upgrading civil defence at the tehsil level as well. A special grant will also be given by the Punjab government in the budget. The tehsil is expected to earn an annual income of Rs500 million.
