The major announcement comes amid a poll rally in Vadodara ahead of the municipal corporation elections.
Gujarat chief minister (CM) Vijay Rupani on Sunday evening collapsed while addressing a public gathering at Mehsananagar crossroads in Nizampura area of Vadodara. Rupani, who was visibly unwell, was in Vadodara to address three public gatherings ahead of the civic body polls scheduled for February 21. After Tarsali and Karelibaug , he was addressing the third public gathering in the Nizampura area of Vadodara. Rupani collapsed while delivering his speech. A body guard who was behind him unsuccessfully tried to hold him. The CM collapsed even as BJP leaders who were on the dais rushed to help. He regained composure a few minutes later. However he did not continue with his speech. He did not seem to be in any discomfort as he descended the stairs and walked away from the venue.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani on Sunday said his government will soon bring a strict law against ‘love jihad’ in the state.
He made the announcement while addressing a poll rally in Vadodara ahead of the municipal corporation elections.
“We are going to bring a law against ‘love jihad’ in the assembly. Such activities being done in the name of ‘love jihad’ will not be tolerated…The BJP government will bring strict laws against love jihad in the coming days,” he said.
