2,200 acres Downeast added to Forestry Foundation network December 23, 2020 on Environment, News ELLSWORTH A Downeast forestland property totaling 2,200 acres in Washington County has been added to the New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF) network of forests. The Venture Brook Community Forest abuts the Dennys River corridor, and the streams and wetlands on the property provide clean water for native Atlantic salmon and brook trout. “NEFF conserved parts of the Dennys River watershed in 2006 through the Downeast Lakes Forestry Partnership, and we expanded on that work in 2018 with our acquisition of the riverside Reynolds Family Forest in partnership with Downeast Salmon Federation,” said Frank Lowenstein, NEFF’s chief operating officer. “We’re proud to continue this tradition of collaboration by working with The Conservation Fund to complete this third round of conservation in the watershed, which tops off a strong year for Downeast land protection.”

Adams III has been named Downeast director of Maine Seacoast Mission.   Mission President John Zavodny, after a review of several qualified Downeast director candidates, said, “Mel’s background and professional preparation touches on all aspects of the Mission’s work in Downeast Maine: education, youth development, food security, community building and multi-generational family engagement. The First Bancorp Declares Fourth Quarter Dividend

Posted on 8350 The Board of Directors of The First Bancorp (NASDAQ: FNLC), the parent company of First National Bank, today declared a quarterly cash dividend of 31 cents per share. This fourth quarter dividend is payable January 19, 2021 to shareholders of record as of January 6, 2021. Based on the December 16, 2020 closing price of $25.41 per share, the annualized dividend of $1.24 per share translates to a yield of 4.88%. “The First Bancorp reported strong earnings in the first three quarters of 2020, including record earnings for the quarter ended September 30, 2020,” remarked President & Chief Executive Officer, Tony C. McKim. “The Company’s Board of Directors remains supportive of paying a generous cash dividend to our shareholders and I am pleased we are able to do so.”
