The St. Ignace Visitors Bureau announced they will be opening up the St. Ignace Car Show weekend which will include the closure of State Street on Saturday, June 26.
Thursday’s traditional ‘Cruise Night’, drive-in movie and the ‘Down Memory Lane’ parade will not be returning this year.
Thursday, June 24: Packet pickup 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Paradise Cruise; leaves Little Bear East Arena at 10 a.m.
Friday, June 25: Packet pickup from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce; the Woodland Dunes Cruise; leaves Little Bear Arena at 10 a.m. and the North Huron Heritage Cruise; leaves Little Bear East Arena at 4 p.m.

For the second successive year, the May bank holiday weekend is quieter than it usually is owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, and in this special LongfordLeader.ie trip Down Memory Lane we go back to a decade ago and the 2011 Ballinalee All Star Carnival.
This lovely selection of photographs from the Ballinalee All Star Carnival, which ran from April 29 - May 1, 2011, was captured by Shelley Corcoran. The weekend featured big acts like Robert Mizzell, Big Generator and Patrick Feeney and our photos are from a bank holiday family fun day out and fingers crossed that by the May bank holiday weekend of 2022, festivals, carnivals, concerts and sporting events will all be back on our social calendar and attracting fine attendances.

name is Jill Stewart and this news is bound to excite our Cape audience in particular, who’re
familiar with Jill from her time on various stations in the region.

This includes Algoa FM which she joined in 1986. Jill will present a specialist 60s and 70s show on East Coast Gold every Sunday
from 10am until 2pm.
