Ulverston Town Council is launching a number of projects to help support the town as it gets ready for spring with the anticipation of the easing of lockdown restrictions later in the year. Local company Ulverclean have been engaged to steam clean all of Ulverston’s historic ginnels, including: Brazier Fells Yard, Lower Brook Street, Smith Courts, Buxton Mews, Queens Court and Bolton’s Place. A shop front improvement scheme is also set to be completed, while there will be subsidised parking in Buxton Place Car Park to boost motorists visiting the town. The town council is also spending £40,000 on refurbishing the Gill toilets.

An Ipswich clinic has more than doubled in size after seeing a sharp rise in teenagers with mental health problems during the coronavirus crisis.

A man responsible for a year-long spate of criminality - including burgling his aunt s home when she was at her son s funeral - has been jailed for 11 years.
Ipswich Crown Court heard how Levi Hilden, 36, committed a string of offences between December 31, 2018, and January 8, 2020, which also included an armed robbery with another man where £25,000 worth of jewellery was stolen.
The court heard how Hilden burgled his aunt s home in Meadowlands, Kirton, on New Year s Eve on 2018 knowing that the house would be empty.
