Stepping up his attack on the Opposition by accusing them of “repeatedly lying” to farmers about the new farm laws and “using them for their politics”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday said the MSP system would continue, and his government was ready to discuss any concern that farmers may have.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday targeted the Opposition for misleading farmers on the new farm laws and said Congress leaders were “uncomfortable” as the BJP-led government at the Centre has implemented what they could not do over the past several decades.
“(Congress leader) Rahul Gandhi had written in the past to all Congress chief ministers that farmers must be allowed to sell their produce in the free market and freed from the Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMC). We brought this amendment, so then why are you opposing (it)?” Rupani said. The Congress, he added, made the same promise in the party’s 2019 election manifesto as well.

LUCKNOW: UP CM Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on Opposition for allegedly confusing farmers and fomenting unrest among them over agricultural reforms. The CM said the opposition parties were not able to digest farmers’ growth.
He was addressing the farmers at a convention in Bareilly on Thursday.
While the farmers agitating against the newly-promulgated farm laws have refused to blink and continue to lay siege to Delhi border with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, the ruling BJP is holding back-to-back public rallies across the states to convince people that the new laws are in favour of the farmers.
