Warning: spoilers ahead for episode seven of season five of “The Expanse.”
After this week’s episode of “The Expanse,” there are only three episodes left. If you’ve just found out about the best sci-fi show on television, you can catch my recaps here.
The seventh episode of the season is perhaps the most character-driven episode of season five. While we get a few brief scenes of Alex and Bobbie joking around, then notifying Holden that Marco has assembled a navy of various powerful Martian warships, there are really only two plotlines to follow.

Exploring even the most seemingly impossible futuristic conflicts can often lead people to reflect on battles that are plaguing modern society. That’s certainly the case for the ensemble group of diverse characters, and the viewers who have pledged their allegiance to watching them the past four years, of the realistic sci-fi television series, ‘The Expanse.’
The mystery drama, which is set in a colonized solar system, began with the governments of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid Belt being locked in long-standing conflict. The crew of the illegally salvaged warship, the Rocinante, then stumbled on a vast conspiracy and a mysterious alien technology that’s threatens to upend the balance of power and the fate of humanity. Amazon keeps doing the bare minimum of dropping a 15 second clip the day before the new episode airs, so here s some more of the cast doing a better job at promoting the show.
This scene from 5X06 is one of Shohreh s favorite scenes (mine as well) because it s the first time you see this side of Avasarala.
This is one of my favorite scenes in season 5 of @ExpanseOnPrime. ❤
Nadine keeps posting bts stuff for the Peaches and Amos road trip
Every week Ty Franck (half of James SA Corey) and Wes Chatham host an aftershow discussing the episode. I won t necessarily be posting them every week, so if you re interested in them, they re on youtube. This week it s Cara Gee and Keon Alexander.

The Expanse season five has somehow already reached episode six with “Tribes,” a somewhat calmer installment that’s still packed with action and incredible character work, especially for Cara Gee’s Drummer and Wes Chatham’s Amos. Tensions are sky-high as the season enters its second half.

If you haven’t watched “Tribes” yet, stop right there and go see why Amos’ surprised face and naked torso are covered in blood. You won’t be sorry! Then we can talk all about it below.
It’s time to check back in with Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), who wasn’t in last week’s episode but is still worried sick about her husband, who hasn’t responded to any of her messages since the asteroid strike near New York. Her vigil is interrupted when a visitor bursts into her office: Minister of Transportation David Paster (Sugith Varughese), who is now, thanks to a lot of dead people in the line of succession, acting in the late Nancy Gao

This week’s
Expanse episode title is “Down and Out,” so you know everyone’s going to be feeling the hurt of what’s happened so far and man, it’s beena lot. But just because certain characters are in regroup mode doesn’t mean the action gets any less tense this week. Quite the opposite: season five shows no mercy!

This is a recap, so be aware: there will be spoilers. Don’t read on unless you’ve watched “Down and Out.”
In the Belt, everyone in Drummer’s faction is reeling after hearing news of the asteroid strike on Earth. They’re shocked by the loss of life (the report they’re watching estimates one to two million dead), and they’re displeased that Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander) has just drawn all of them into a war they weren’t necessarily looking for. “All Belters will have to answer for Marcos’ deeds now,” Oksana (Sandrine Holt) points out. But others among the crew don’t feel terribly sorry for Eart
