CORNWALL, Ontario – Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, Medical Officer of Health for the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) shared some positive news in his bi-weekly media conference call on Monday, April 26. The EOHU is starting to see the curve of new COVID-19 cases trending downwards after peaking at around Easter. The region currently sits at a seven-day rolling average of 85.1 new COVID-19 cases, down from a peak of 154.1 on the week of April 15.

Tanker truck fire closes highway at Quebec border check for more than eight hours

Article content A tanker truck caught fire at an Ontario Provincial Police check point near the Quebec border Wednesday night, closing a stretch of Highway 417 for more than eight hours.
