New mixed-used developments planned for Cassady Avenue in north Bexley and East Livingston Avenue in south Bexley passed an initial review by the city’s Architectural Review Board (ARB) on Jan. 14 and is scheduled to be taken up by the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning (BZAP) on Jan. 28.
Officials announced Dec. 21 that the Bexley Community Improvement Corp., the city’s nonprofit development entity, and The Community Builders, a national nonprofit housing developer, want to build mixed-use residential and commercial developments at 420 N. Cassady Ave. and 2300 E. Livingston Ave.
The developments are designed to include two, three-story buildings that will include 43 residential apartments ranging in size from one to three bedrooms.

Two double-homicides within 12 hours prompted Columbus police to once again call for help from the community to help solve cases. I ve never seen anything like this, said Deputy Chief Michael Woods, who has worked for the division for 32 years. Almost daily a serious shooting.
The city has seen a record 173 homicides in 2020. The previous record was 143 in 2017. It s been a very difficult year, Woods said during a Tuesday press conference outside police headquarters Downtown.
Two people died and another is in critical condition after reports of a stabbing around 5 a.m. Tuesday at the Summit Park Apartments in the 4400 block of Walford Street in the Northland area.

COLUMBUS, Ohio A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have died after a shooting on East Livingston Avenue Monday evening.
According to Columbus police, officers were called to the Exxon gas station at 2097 East Livingston Avenue around 6 p.m. on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found 20-year-old Finesse Robinson and a 17-year-old Donell Freeman suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Freeman was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. Robinson died at 6:24 p.m.
7:21 p.m.-A juvenile was issued a citation for speeding on Lincoln Highway.

3:47 p.m.-Officers assisted EMS personnel in the 300 block of Clink Boulevard.
7:04 p.m.-A non-injury accident was investigated in the 200 block of North Washington Street.

12:53 a.m.-A report of juveniles riding four-wheelers on the street in the 900 block of Micks Place were issued a warning if they continue, the four-wheelers will be towed and they will be cited. The juveniles were taken to their residences.
5:30 a.m.-A non-injury accident was investigated in the 1600 block of Ohio 61.
