Increase in coronavirus patients being treated in East Lancashire hospitals
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust was caring for 56 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday, figures show. NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on July 6 was up from 44 on the same day the previous week. Across England there were 1,998 people in hospital with Covid as of July 6, with 353 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.
