Dry Ice, Bottled Water Distribution Planned in Broome and Tioga
UPDATED: Revised location of dry ice and bottled water distribution sites.
More than 10,000 NYSEG customers in the Binghamton area are still without electricity and the utility says some may not have their power restored until sometime during the weekend.
With restoration efforts taking longer than originally expected, NYSEG says it plans to distribute dry ice and bottled water at several locations.
In Broome County, distribution sites will be set up at the Boulevard United Methodist Church at 113 Grand Boulevard in Binghamton, the Endwell fire station on Country Club Road, the Vestal fire station on Owego Road and the East Maine Fire Station on East Maine Road.

BAR HARBOR The Jackson Laboratory has begun work on Woodlands Lane Apartments, which is a housing initiative for its employees. The 24-apartment complex will be located on the western side of Route 3, less than a mile from the research institution’s Bar Harbor headquarters.
“The ability to build year-round workforce housing for JAX employees is a key strategic initiative for JAX and it is wonderful to see the project get off the ground after many years of planning,” said Catherine “Katy” Longley, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Working with the Town of Bar Harbor and others, we will continue to address housing and other important issues like childcare and transportation.”
