Rep. Cambensy to attend virtual event for U.P. residents

Upper Peninsula residents will have the opportunity to attend a virtual event featuring state representative Sara Cambensy, who represents the 109th District of Michigan.
This event, which is at noon on Friday, is hosted by the League of Women Voters of Eastern Upper Peninsula and encourages all women and men to attend. Cambensy is slated to share her story of how she became interested in politics, what it is like to lead in the Upper Peninsula and Michigan and what it will take for more women to join in in Lansing and at local offices.

U.P. sees promising future for job outlook

EASTERN UPPER PENINSULA The long-term job outlook for the area is promising, according to Upper Peninsula Michigan Works!.
“Long term, the job outlook for the Eastern Upper Peninsula is the best we have seen in a long time,” said Mari Schupp, Workforce Services Manager for Chippewa, Luce, Mackinac and Schoolcraft counties for Michigan Works!. “There are a lot of good-paying jobs coming that have never before been available in this region. Opportunities such as the Soo Locks project and Michigan Launch Initiative are ramping up. There are many other great job opportunities on the horizon.”
