WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI With 80,000 Washtenaw County residents eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, it will take some time before some groups get their shots, Washtenaw County Health Department officials said.
Health department officials are cautioning residents that it could take several weeks or even months before people currently eligible are contacted with an available vaccination appointment, which are currently being filled by randomly selecting from among eligible individuals.

YPSILANTI, MI The COVID-19 vaccine supply is making it a challenge to put a dent in the amount of Washtenaw County residents currently eligible for vaccinations getting the shots, health officials said.
The county has surpassed 15,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Jan. 29. And, while the reported number of new daily cases remains high, Washtenaw County Health Department Spokeswoman Susan Ringler-Cerniglia, said everything possible is being done to get shots in the arms of residents who need them most.

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI Washtenaw County is slowly ramping up efforts to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, despite being forced to postpone two clinics in the last five days due to low supply.
The Washtenaw County Health Department is currently scheduling vaccinations for older adults without a primary health care provider, as well as a few designated essential workers, such as first responders. According to state guidance, 75% of the vaccine is designated for older adults, officials said.
