A man from Harrow is among three men who were found with Islamic terrorism-related material. Mohamed Ismail, a 24-year-old Dutch national from Harrow, has been sentenced to four years’ imprisonment after an investigation found him involved in a terrorism-related online chat. Between August and December 2019, Ismail and two other men spoke to each other on internet chat groups and sent messages which showed their Islamic extremist mindsets. The messages included the men expressing their support of the aims of Daesh, and of violent jihads against “non-believers”. They posted extremist material - Daesh propaganda material, including execution videos and publications showing different ways to commit terror attacks.

Guns seized and two arrested in Leighton Buzzard raids Firearms were seized and two men arrested following dawn raids in Leighton Buzzard this morning (Wednesday) as part of an investigation into the supply of firearms. Wednesday, 28th April 2021, 5:08 pm Officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) seized an automatic firearm and a handgun, following warrants at residential addresses in Lake Street. Two men, one in their 20s and one in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and taken into custody for further questioning. ERSOU’s teams were supported by resources from Bedfordshire Police, the Metropolitan Police, and Essex Police.
