We are always looking for new places to explore and new sites to visit; we scour newspapers, magazines, and books for possible new adventures. Even after 10 years of exploring our immediate area, we still find places to add to our list. In a Tucson newspaper dated Nov. 29, 2020, we found an activity that caught our attention: a new sculpture garden was hosting its inaugural exhibit from Feb. 13 through July 4! An outdoor exhibit, with limited attendance, met our criteria as a safe and interesting adventure and was immediately placed on our list of local places to see.

Virtual open houses seek solution to East River Road traffic concerns

Four alternatives being considered as original plan to disrupt traffic met with neighborhood objection. Written By: Post Bulletin staff reports | 11:22 pm, Apr. 27, 2021 × Options for slowing or limiting traffic on East River Road Northeast will be the subject of a pair of Rochester Public Works virtual open houses Thursday. The goal is to find a replacement for a plan that was rejected last year. An original proposal that would have placed barriers at the intersection of East River Road, 24th Street Northeast and Riverside Lane was eliminated after neighbors voiced concerns about the potential to force traffic onto nearby streets. At the same time, the project is a response to other residents in the area, who petitioned the city to address concerns related to cut-through traffic, vehicle speeds, poor sight lines, and safety of pedestrians and cyclists.
