The Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) will conduct a three-year program, “Healthy Aging with LASM,” which will serve senior adults in the 11-parish capital region. The museum will implement the program in partnership with the Capital Area Agency on Aging, the East Baton Rouge Parish Council on Aging, the Baton Rouge General Arts in Medicine Program, and Dr. Rebecca Bartlett. Senior adults have faced unprecedented levels of isolation, stress, and health risk due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
IBERVILLE PARISH – On Tuesday night, the Iberville Parish Council introduced an ordinance to temporarily halt future subdivision development on the East side of the parish. This only begins the discussion.

BATON ROUGE - Brandon Dumas removed his name from being a finalist for a high-ranking position at a campus in the Southern University System late Wednesday as word spread WBRZ was finalizing a report about his prospective hiring in the wake of Dumas firing from Southern in 2017.
After being fired from the Baton Rouge campus, Dumas unsuccessfully sued Southern. Until Wednesday, he was hoping to return to the university system.
Dumas was fired after a string of embarrassing news stories. He was placed on leave when a sex tape surfaced between an administrator and a student. While Southern never publicly tied Dumas to the recording, he was put on leave immediately after it surfaced and then fired. Around that time, the WBRZ Investigative Unit exposed he was sitting

The following information is from the mayorâs office:
The shelter at BRECâs Nairn Park, 2800 Nairn Drive in Baton Rouge, will stand down today at noon now that freezing temperatures are leaving our area. This week the Mayorâs Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (MOHSEP) provided nearly 800 residents with non-congregate shelter accommodations, including 265 Households, 460 Adults, and 376 children.
The American Red Cross also supported our shelter of last resort at BRECâs Nairn Park this week.
