On Sunday in Roane County, advocates met for the victims of the clean-up crew who worked on-site at the Kingston ash spill back in 2008. They gave messages of perseverance and say they won t stop until their voices are heard. We say never again should our husbands, wives, fathers, sisters, brothers, mothers be denied protection from the very toxic air that they breathe, said Julie Bledsoe, an advocate 

William Ed Harmon honored as founding donor and board member Blount Community Fund | Community

Blount Community Fund (BCF), an affiliate fund of East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) celebrated the support and service of William “Ed” Harmon with a small, socially distanced plaque presentation on Dec. 14 at his Maryville home. Trudy Hughes, ETF’s vice president for regional advancement, shared, “We are here today to recognize and honor Ed Harmon for yet another great philanthropic commitment by Ed to his Blount County community. This Fund was formed when ETF matched Ed’s generous contribution. He has also served as one of many Blount County volunteer leaders growing resources for future generations while impacting current unmet needs.”

Playing 18 characters from Scrooge to Marley’s Ghost, Mr. Fezziwig, Bob Cratchit and even the smallest member, Tiny Tim, Cabus employs Dickens’ original text to bring the classic Christmas characters to life. In nearly 90 minutes, the beloved characters from the holiday tale of transformation and redemption sing or dance or laugh or cry their way across the Playhouse stage like you’ve never seen before.
