South Oxfordshire couple gain global recognition for interfaith activism

AN INTERFAITH couple have won an international award for their work with religious organisations around the world. Mary and Marcus Braybrooke, who live in Clifton Hampden, South Oxfordshire, received the award from the Temple of Understanding, one of America’s oldest interfaith organisations, for their ongoing efforts to promote global peace. The Temple of Understanding works closely with the United Nations in its efforts at conflict-resolution and care for migrants and refugees. Marcus, a retired vicar, and Mary, a social worker, have lived in different parts of the country, including London and the Medway Towns. Most recently Marcus was Vicar of Marsh and Toot Baldon and Nuneham Courtenay. Marcus joined the the World Congress of Faiths and has written many books on religion and spirituality.
