The offspring, known collectively as a herd, were born over several days, with a few dozen arriving just before New Year s Eve.

Wild seahorses from the Sydney suburb of Clifton Gardens were moved to the aquarium where they later gave birth to hundreds of babies.
The baby seahorses were released in May 2020 to artificial environments known as seahorse hotels that have been built at Clifton Gardens. This year marks the second year of the project.
