The Clifton Street property was at the heart of serious drugs and anti-social behaviour problems A DRUGS den that brought misery and fear to a neighbourhood has been shut down – the second in less than a week. It is the latest strike in a town-wide drive by Middlesbrough Council and Cleveland Police to win back law-abiding streets from dealers, thugs and yobs. The Clifton Street property falls under the Newport ward Selective Landlord Licensing (SLL) scheme, with officers from the Council’s SLL team leading on securing the binding court order. The first floor flat will now be secured for three months with screens funded by the Safer Streets project run by the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner and the Council.
