Authorities in Clinton County are investigating the discovery of human remains located not far from where a truck belonging to a missing Jerseyville man was found almost 10 years ago. Jared Hanna was last seen walking a few miles from where the truck was found abandoned and out of gas in July 2011 near Centralia.
According to X95Radio.com, The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department says an employee of the Clinton County Jail was out hunting shed antlers on Monday afternoon when he found a human skull and called police. An additional search of the area along Jolliff Bridge Road and Linn Street in Centralia on Monday and Tuesday resulted in the discovery of additional bones, all turned over to Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators. Hanna’s truck was found on Jolliff Bridge Road in July 2011. Authorities say there are other missing persons cases they have investigated recently including another case from 2011,

Woman dead, man in custody in Caldwell County shooting
A 35-year-old male from Lawson is in custody pending charges.

(POLO, Mo.) The Caldwell County Sheriff s Department is reporting a fatal shooting in Polo Wednesday morning.
A department news release said deputies responded to a shots fired call at a street intersection in Polo. After arriving, the release said deputies found a woman with a gunshot wound and a male with a weapon running from the scene.
It said the suspect was later taken into custody only after a lengthy pursuit and manhunt in a nearby wooded area. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A Monticello man is facing a murder charge following a fatal crash on Ky. 90 in Clinton County on Saturday evening.
Jesse Wayne Brown, 31, was arrested by Kentucky State Police on charges including Murder, first-degree Wanton Endangerment; Speeding 26 mph or greater; Operating a Motor Vehicle While a Motor Vehicle DUI 1st offense, aggravating circumstance; and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
KSP s Columbia Post received a call Saturday evening from Clinton County 911 Dispatch requesting assistance on a two-vehicle collision that had resulted in a fatality. The preliminary investigation indicates that Jesse Brown was driving a 1999 Chevy Silverado westbound on Ky. 90. Brown was reported to be holding a seven-month-old child in his lap when he entered the eastbound lane and struck a 2012 Ford Focus operated by 61-year-old Debra Brown of Albany head on. Debra Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Coroner.

Update: The two teenage girls who were reported missing out of Jones County, Iowa have been found, according to a spokesperson from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
On Friday morning, January 8, Special Agent Richard Rahn confirmed that the girls were safe. They were found in the Princeton, Illinois area by the Illinois State Police.
Rahn confirmed that police do not believe this was an abduction, but that they took it upon themselves to travel to another location.
