Independent probe into police response to Rangers celebrations launched AN independent probe into the police response to Rangers fans celebrations over the weekend has been launched. The Independent Advisory Group (IAG) - set up to scrutinise Police Scotland - will examine the force s actions over the weekend in response to riotous scenes witnessed in the city after the Ibrox side seized their first title in a decade.  Chief Constable Iain Livingston said: I have asked John Scott QC to consider the events of the weekend at the next scheduled IAG meeting on Friday, March 12, having regard to the fundamental human rights principles of legality, necessity and proportionality, and to consider any relevant issues for the policing of future events over the coming months.

Scottish Labour slammed over undemocratic decision to remove candidate who backed indyref 2 REPRESENTATIVES across the political spectrum have hit out at Scottish Labour over a decision to drop their candidate for Glasgow Kelvin for comments made in support of a second independence referendum.  Hollie Cameron received the news that the party s Scottish Executive Committee (SEC) decided to withdraw support for her candidacy in Glasgow Kelvin at the upcoming Holyrood election.  The executive committee of the Glasgow Kelvin Labour Party slammed the decision, calling it undemocratic. A statement read: The executive committee of Kelvin Constituency Labour Party held an emergency meeting today to discuss the SEC s decision to withdraw the party s endorsement from Hollie Cameron and impose a new candidate on the CLP.
