Millard House leaving Clarksville-Montgomery County School System

Millard House II is getting a pay raise after all.  House, the leader of Clarksville s public school system, announced Friday morning he plans to leave the district. He has been named the lone finalist for the superintendent position at Houston Independent School District, one of the largest public school systems in the nation. Twelve days ago, the Montgomery County Commission rejected House s pay increase, the latest chapter of an ongoing saga between the commission and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. House s salary in Houston is expected to match, if not exceed, the raise he attempted to acquire in Clarksville. The Houston school district is the seventh largest in the nation, employing about 30,000 people and serving more than 200,000 students in 276 schools.
