Deidre Mengedoht LOUISVILLE, Ky.   The son of Louisville Metro Police Detective Deidre Dee Dee Mengedoht will receive almost $14 million from the city as part of a settlement reached over her death in a 2018 crash caused by a Metropolitan Sewer District employee. Mengedoht, 32, was killed on Christmas Eve in 2018 after a semitruck driven by MSD employee Roger Burdette crashed into the detective s vehicle as she conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 64 underneath the Belvedere. Mengedoht s estate, headed by her mother, filed a lawsuit against Burdette and MSD in January 2019, accusing Burdette of negligence and MSD of failing to properly employ, supervise and train him.
