San Diego police and SWAT officers converged in force Thursday on a busy Clairemont Mesa street after an apparent shooting victim was found in front of the local post office.
Within about two hours, police had arrested one person and recovered a gun, police Lt. Shawn Takeuchi said. Officers spent about another hour searching as they tried to determine whether a second person was involved in the shooting, then called it off. San Diego Police stand outside Fire Station 27 in Clairemont after a shooting was reported in the area on Thursday. A gunshot victim was treated in front of the fire station according to police.

Some residents in Clairemont Mesa were forced to evacuate Wednesday after an SUV hit a house and ruptured a gas line, according to San Diego police.
The SUV hit a home on Barstow Street just before 5:30 p.m. and broke a gas meter, according to the San Diego-Fire Rescue Department.
