On the morning of February 11th, 2021, the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of Power Lines being stolen from the Hwy. 521/Greeleyville Hwy. area of Clarendon County. The theft was discovered after Power Crews responded to a power outage in that area. On February 27, 2021, Michael Wayne Buttery, 58 years old and Kimberly Kay Buttery, 55 years old of Summerville SC were arrested after Investigators and Deputies received information that there was a white Ford service truck (see above) on Hwy. 521, in the area where the theft had taken place. Investigators also recovered multiple tools consistent with this type of theft during the arrests. The Investigation is still ongoing in this case. COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The family of a Clarendon County man is offering a reward to anyone who can help solve their loved one’s murder. According to the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office, the family of Corey McFadden is offering a $1,000 for information leading to the arrest in his death.
In February of last year, deputies say McFadden was found shot and killed at a property near his home. His friends reported him missing when he did not show up for his birthday party.

On the morning of December 30, 2020, around 2:20am, the Shell Station located at 6181 Alex Harvin Hwy. in the Manning area of Clarendon County, was burglarized by two suspects driving a black Ford Ranger truck. The suspects hooked a chain to the door of the business and pulled the door off using the truck. The other suspect went inside the business with another chain and secured it around the ATM machine and back to the other chain which was hooked to the truck. At this time, the driver of the vehicle snatched the ATM out of the business and both subjects loaded it in the back of the truck. The subjects left going east on Alex Harvin Hwy towards I95. On Thursday, October 22, 2020, The Clarendon County Combined Narcotics Unit, which is comprised of Agents from The Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office and The Manning Police Department, arrested multiple subjects involved in the Distribution of Illegal Narcotics throughout Clarendon County to include the City of Manning and the Towns of Turbeville and Summerton. This investigation spans over a year in length and has resulted in 30 different suspects being identified and charged with a total of 96 drug offenses, to include, the distribution of Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Heroin, Marijuana and other controlled substances throughout Clarendon County.
As local, state, and federal businesses were suspended due to the COVID-19, crimes and drug activity continued. Our Combined Narcotics Units continued to work to suppress the illegal activity during this time. As a result, the CCCNU executed arrest warrants and was able to fulfill th
