Chrysalis has thanked the Wigton community for helping it cope with the incredible challenges of the last year, ensuring it could continue to support adults with learning disabilities. The Wigton-based charity says support from businesses and volunteers in the town and the wider Cumbrian community helped keep it going during the pandemic and meant that it could still offer its support to vulnerable people. Chief officer Claire Doherty said supporters rallied round as soon as the crisis hit to ensure that Chrysalis could continue to offer its services. “We had great support from local businesses that supported us with donations of items like PPE in the early days when supplies were low. And we got support from further afield such as the face shields supplied by Jon Stynes Design in Brampton which were brilliant and are still being used now.
