SAN RAMON, CA San Ramon police fired shots at a driver shortly after midnight Monday at the onset of a police pursuit that ended in the South Bay.
The driver, 48-year-old Sandy Lyons of Stockton, was not injured but was arrested later by Santa Clara County Sheriff s deputies, the San Ramon Police Department said.
San Ramon police said an officer was speaking with Lyons, who was in a car that had been stolen from a car dealership in Oakland. Lyons then began to flee, dragging an officer, and prompting another officer to fire several shots at Lyons and car, police said. The officer who was dragged by the car suffered minor injuries.

San Francisco Bay Area police are investigating the shooting of at least one man at a shopping mall outside San Jose on Saturday evening.
Employees and customers inside the Great Mall in Milpitas were asked to shelter in place as officers responded to the situation, according to the Milpitas Police Department. Search teams are systematically searching all stores that were sheltering in place, and will be escorting employees and customers out into the parking lot, Milpitas Police said in a tweet. Officers and detectives remain on scene and are actively investigating this incident.

Police investigating a shooting at the Great Mall in Milpitas Saturday night announced only the gunman was shot in the incident.
Milpitas police said the 22-year-old San Francisco man sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was not the victim of an act of violence. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the evacuations, two people had medical emergencies, which were not related to the incident, and were taken to a nearby hospital.
