Irvine cat safe as council board pet into flat after police raid

A pet cat that was boarded up into a flat following a midnight police raid in Irvine is now understood to be okay. A man was arrested late last month in the middle of the night at a property in the Harbourside area in connection to an outstanding warrant. The man appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, March 29 – however council workers and the accused’s brother then had to visit the property the following evening to rescue a trapped cat. While council chiefs declined to comment on the individual circumstances the Times was told its believed the cat was fine when it was later collected.

Irvine knife attack: Duo allegedly disfigure man in Fullarton

A COUPLE face serious assault charges after allegedly leaving a man permanently disfigured during a stabbing and roof tile attack in Fullarton. Darren Jones and Catherine Wilson, both aged 34, pled not guilty when they returned to court last week after their arrest for alleged involvement in an incident on February 13 last year. Jones, of Hill Street Barrhead, faced a charge assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement at Mckinlay Crescent, Irvine. Court papers state Jones repeatedly struck and kicked the victim in the head and body and repeatedly stuck him on the head with a roof tile. Both Jones and Wilson, of Perceton Mill, Irvine, faced a second serious assault charge of attacking the same man in Fullarton Street.
