Gilmer County deputies searching for missing 14-year-old girl

GILMER COUNTY, Ga. - Deputies are desperately searching for a Gilmer County teenager and they need your help to make sure she s safe.
Officials with the Gilmer County Sheriff s Office posted a photo of 14-year-old Kiari Lewicki on Facebook Thursday morning.
According to deputies, Lewicki was last seen Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. at her home off of Johnson Henry Road in Ellijay.
The missing teenager is described as being 5-feet-4-inches tall with a weight of around 115 pounds.
Lewicki was last known to be wearing a purple top and gray pajama pants.

ELLIJAY, Ga. – Three members of Gilmer’s community were honored this week for their contributions as the Commissioners took a moment out of their regular monthly meeting to offer letters of recognition to Gary Engel, Larry Lykins, and Mack Logan.
The county gave the framed certificates of appreciation to each member as Chairman Paris read the recognitions.
For his contributions to the wine vineyard community, his service with Georgia Wine Producers and four years on the Board of Directors with terms as both President and Vice-President, his service as a board member of the Georgia Wine and Grape Commission under the Department of Agriculture, for his leadership, guidance, community service, and personal achievement, the Gilmer County Board of Commissioners recognized Gary Engel’s dedication and devoted service to the Wine Community.
3 arrested, 2 at-large in connection to murder of Rossana Delgado

ATLANTA - Authorities said they have arrested three of the five suspects wanted in connection to the April murder of a 37-year-old woman in Gilmer County.
Megan Alyssa Colone, 30, of Stone Mountain, Oscar Manuel Garcia, 26, of Austell, and Juan Antonio Vega, 25, were taken into custody in Mexico on Saturday, the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office said.
Vega, who was previously unnamed in the case, was found along with Garcia. Investigators said Vega matches the man seen in photos released by authorities. A warrant for murder was taken out for the Cobb County resident.
County renames park to Ralston River ParkNews

ELLIJAY, Ga. – Honoring the entire Ralston family for contributions to the county and the park specifically, including that of Georgia House Speaker David Ralston, the Gilmer County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to rename the riverside park along Old Highway 5 to “Ralston River Park.”
In April of 2018, Speaker David Ralston attended the opening of the new playground at River Park which a state grant aided local funds in creating.
Originating in this month’s meeting as an agenda item to rename the walking path for the Ralston family, discussion turned to the 28 years of service the county has received through numerous efforts from the family as a whole. Parks and Recreations Director Kevan White spoke during the Commissioners Work Session on the topic saying that some of those efforts include employment with the Parks and Rec Department, officiating basketball games over the years, mem
