Killeen ISD Releases Plans for Class of 2021 Graduation
As we approach the final stretch of the 2020-21 school season, districts are starting to announce graduation plans.
The 2020-21 academic season has been a one-of-a kind-school year for sure. Just like the last quarter of 2020, the pandemic played a major role in the spring semester. The first semester was a mix of virtual and in-person learning, while the second saw more in-person learning.
Teachers and students alike have had to adjust to the changing landscape brought on by the pandemic. Last year s seniors may have had it the worse, as most schools opted for no graduation or very restricted graduation ceremonies.
A Killeen Daily Herald news report was featured on NBCâs âSaturday Night Liveâ last weekend.
During the TV showâs Weekend Update, comedian Michael Che took a jab at a local Killeen police report.
âTexas police arrested a woman who broke into a manâs house, stripped naked, and slept in one of his beds,â Che said. âThe man called the police when he realized the woman was not attractive.â
On Mar. 30, the Herald reported on a Killeen police arrest affidavit involving a naked woman allegedly caught trespassing at a Killeen manâs home.

The Killeen City Council expected to vote Tuesday on whether to spend $100,000 as a contribution to the new traffic light that is up and running at the intersection of Golden Gate Drive and Clear Creek Road in west Killeen.
Last week, the item was brought to the council during its workshop meeting and there was a lengthy discussion about whether the council should have to pay anything for a project that is already complete.
Bubba Purser, a well-known local developer, paid for the light at around $420,000 and is asking the council to contribute $100,000 back to him. He said it is only equitable for the council to pay him that amount because they are going to get a light that they would have had to build in the future for âa quarter on the dollar.â

Upon arrival, officers observed Lopez-Ramirez had injuries to his face. âLopez-Ramirez informed police that (a woman) assaulted him when she âsaw him performing his ritualâ with (a minor),â police said.
