Christian Long had been missing since the age of 19. His disappearance was reported to police in December 2016. His father, Donald Long, said his son told him he was going to stay in Eugene for a while in October, and after losing contact for an extended period of time, he reached out to police with his concerns.

Contributed photo 4x800 team takes first at Class 2, District 6 Meet Four Southwest runners — Travis Sickles, Christian Long, Caden Uthe and Otis Rainer — advanced through the Class 2, District 6 Track Meet in five events Saturday at Reeds Spring High School. Sickles, a senior, finished second in the 3200-meter run and third in the mile, and he anchored the 4x800 relay team to a first-place finish. He established a new school record in the 3200 in 9:57.49. “Nobody questions the guts of a distance runner,” said Southwest Coach Steve Voyak. “But, three races in a high-stakes meet will test anybody. He has been waiting for this day and he seized it.”

Contributed photo Trojans win 5 events, medal in 10 The Southwest boys track and field team won the Diamond High School Track Invitational last week, finishing second in the 4x400 relay to outdistance second-place Jasper 86-83.  The Trojans also outpaced Diamond, Marionville, Pierce City, and Liberal. The Trojans won five events and medaled in 10. Senior Travis Sickles captured the 2-mile and 800-meter events, and Senior Isaac Starr won the shot put.
