Outside the Capitol insurrection in January, a group of protesters carried a large wooden cross and a flag flew reading Jesus is My Savior, Trump is My President.
Some in the crowd embraced Christian nationalism, an ideology that combines Christian and American identities and promotes Christianity as the reigning religion. Research has found that adherence to Christian nationalism was a significant predictor of support for Donald Trump in the 2016 election.

NC s biggest mistake is getting bigger:
New Lt. Governor Mark Robinson is, like his predecessor Dan Forest, no stranger to controversy. Next month he’ll be proving it again, following in Forest’s footsteps as a keynote speaker for a North Carolina Renewal Project event in Raleigh.
As Policy Watch reported in 2019, the American Renewal Project holds similar expense-paid private events across the country for “church and ministry leaders, and their spouses.” Its goal, as stated by founder David Lane, is to “engage the church in a culture war for religious liberty, to restore America to our Judeo-Christian heritage and to re-establish a Christian culture.”
Origin
In February 2021, as the news cycle focused on genuine comments made by U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene about school shootings being hoaxes, some social media users encountered a quote ostensibly uttered by Greene about Jesus and the English language.
This meme reads: “‘If English was good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for us,’ stated Marjorie Taylor Greene, explaining why Spanish shouldn’t be spoken in a Christian Nation like America. Wow! Chew on that for a moment.”
This is not a genuine quote from Greene.
While we’ve encountered dozens of posts spreading this quote, we’ve yet to see any posting state where and when Greene supposedly made this comment. A cursory search of recent news articles, interviews, and Greene’s social media accounts also turned up no results.
