Boko Haram Captives Reportedly Escape

There are reports, a schoolgirl abducted by Boko Haram 7 years ago in northeast Nigeria has escaped captivity.
Persecution watchdog Open Doors has been told by their sources, there may be other escapees, but the total number is not yet known.
The Nigerian Army says none of the schoolgirls involved in the 2014 abduction were among those set free in a recent military operation targeting Boko Haram.
However, My Christian Daily reports, Open Doors confirms that a schoolgirl escapee has been able to contact her father via phone, and has been “clearly identified”.
Henrietta Blyth from the charity, says the news “is a ray of hope that others still in captivity may regain their freedom too”.

Organisers say “the protection of all of those who participate in the annual March, as well as the many law enforcement personnel and others who work tirelessly each year to ensure a safe and peaceful event, is a top priority of the March for Life”.
They say the event will look different in light of the pandemic, as well as heightened pressures on Capitol law enforcement officers.

Members of the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram reportedly attacked and killed 11 people in a Christian village in northern Nigeria on Christmas Eve.
According to the BBC, the militants rode into Pemi village in the Borno state and set fire to a church. The militants abducted a priest and took medical supplies from a hospital, then set it on fire.
Open Doors Analyst Illia Djadi told the Christian Daily that Boko Haram that Christians are regularly targeted by the terrorists. Christians are the primary target because they are not Muslims. The radicals want to turn them into Muslims by force and if they refuse, they will kill them or turn them into sex slaves, Djadi said.
