The 2,395 fans at NBT Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon saw another thrilling game, but unfortunately another Mets extra-inning loss, as the Buffalo Bisons beat the Syracuse Mets, 9-7, in 11 innings.
Buffalo (27-19) scored two runs in the top of the first inning for the second straight game. Brevic Valera hit a leadoff single. After Kevin Smith flew out, Christian Colón lifted a two-run home run over the left-center-field wall to give the Bisons an early 2-0 lead.

The Blue Jays recently signed
Dilson Herrera to a minor-league contract (h/t to Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America). The utility infielder was assigned to Triple-A Buffalo, where he’s begun the year 2-12 with a double and a triple.
Herrera, once a top prospect in the Mets’ system, broke into the big leagues as a 20-year-old in 2014. He never really got an extended run, either in New York or Cincinnati after his inclusion in the 2016
Jay Bruce deal. Herrera made an extremely brief return to the big leagues last season, appearing in three games with the Orioles. All told, he owns a .199/.290/.386 line in 272 MLB plate appearances.

2021/03/06 08:29 SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) Outfielder Jarrod Dyson returned to the Kansas City Royals, finalizing a $1.5 million, one-year contract on Friday. The 36-year-old, who helped the Royals win the 2015 World Series, can earn $250,000 in performance bonuses for plate appearances: $50,000 each for 350, 400, 450, 500, and 550. Dyson was a 50th-round pick by the Royals in the 2006 amateur draft and played for the Royals from 2010-16. He stole 176 bases, sixth in team history and two behind Frank White. Dyson helped the Royals win the 2014 AL pennant and scored the go-ahead run in the fifth and final game of the 2015 World Series at the New York Mets. He entered in the 12th inning as a pinch-runner following Salvador Pérez s single and scored on Christian Colón s single off Addison Reed for a 3-2 lead in a game the Royals won 7-2.
