Operation Immunization
With COVID-19 vaccines available to all adults in the United States, pharmacists have played a crucial role in immunizing the public. By their side, since the beginning of the rollout, have been PharmD students in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Each week, UB pharmacy student volunteers vaccinate hundreds of Western New Yorkers through Operation Immunization, an initiative of the UB chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP). Student volunteers also assist with patient registration, education and counseling, and clinic coordination.
To date, the student-led program has vaccinated close to 2,500 patients at nearly 20 clinics. The students work under the supervision of community pharmacists and UB pharmacy school faculty, gaining valuable clinical experience.

Yoga program moves indoors: The Yoga in the Park series is moving to the Dolan Recreation Center in Dedham monthly on Sundays from 6-7 p.m. This class is suitable for all levels and will encompass meditation, lots of movement and time for relaxing during our savasana at the end of class. Please note, due to COVID-19 safety precautions and social distancing requirements, classes will be limited to eight individuals to ensure everyone has plenty of space while practicing. Westwood Historical Society explores 1620: The First Year

For its first program of the year, the Westwood Historical Society will present Christopher Daley, via Zoom, on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Daley has lectured all over New England on historical topics. In this program, he’ll share his knowledge about the Pilgrims and their landing at Plymouth Rock.
The first part of the talk will examine the difficult voyage over the Atlantic, the trials and tribulations that the Pilgrims met when they first arrived in the New World, and the help they received from the Wampanoag Nation.
