Ford Graham, the former Princeton resident who has been charged by the federal government with fraud, identity theft, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, securities fraud, engaging in unlawful monetary transactions, and aggravated identity theft for allegedly engaging in multiple schemes to steal millions of dollars from individuals and institutions, is out on bail after his first federal court appearance in New Jersey.
Graham, who now has a thick mustache, made his first appearance before Judge Douglas Arpert of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in Trenton via Zoom on Wednesday afternoon from what appeared to be a home office. He is being represented by criminal defense attorney Christopher Olsen of Schwartz, Hanna and Olsen, which has offices in Hamilton and Somerville.

For Brian and Bettie Phillips of Wilmington, Delaware, music provided an opportunity to explore the world when they weren t able to physically travel. Although they appreciated live performances, in retirement they often enjoyed classical music from the comfort of their living room, relishing in the poetic peace of the sound.
The joy that music brought to them will now be spread to others. A $500,000 gift from their estate has established the Dr. Brian R. Phillips and Bettie Neckar Phillips Endowed Music Scholarship for students pursuing degrees in music from Indiana State University.
“The generosity of Brian and Bettie Phillips will make an indelible mark at Indiana State University, ISU President Deborah J. Curtis said. We are proud that their passion for music will endure through our students in the School of Music.”

On Thursday, April 1, the Princeton Planning Board will consider the designation of yet another Area in Need of Redevelopment (ANR), the third such designation for Princeton in fewer than five years. This time it is for properties comprising over 40 acres on or near the Princeton Shopping Center.
As the Planning Board considers this option, we would like to offer a cautionary tale to our friends and neighbors throughout town. The Area in Need of Redevelopment designation will impact all of Princeton, so we would like to encourage all Princetonians to pay close attention.
Almost any neighborhood could be shoehorned into meeting the definition of an Area in Need of Redevelopment, although such a designation is not in the spirit of the statewide law that established this redevelopment framework. Imagine how different the future would be if the Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood had been declared an Area in Need of Redevelopment rather than designated our 20
