Photo: Google Maps Plans to add a third storey to a building in Station Road, Epping, to enable a development of six one-bedroom flats are being opposed by the town council. Councillors have objected saying the proposed development at Purlieu House at 11 Station Road is overbearing and overdominant . A planning application submitted to Epping Forest District Council is seeking consent to add a third floor and turn existing office space on the ground floor to retail use.

Photo: Yotube/Dead Obituary Epping Town Council has agreed unanimously to a suggestion for a blue plaque to be put up on the boundary of one of the former Epping homes of the late author Jill Barklem. Jill is best known for her series Brambly Hedge books which have been translated into over 13 languages with more than seven million copies having been sold. The esteemed author, who died in 2017, was born in Epping in 1951. She lived in Theydon Grove and later on Church Hill, where the plaque is proposed, subject to the permission of the homeowners.
