Claimants are Finding it Impossible to Prove Their Identities Online
Frustrated by the growing number of residents who are having their unemployment benefits blocked, Senator Kristin Corrado and Senator Loretta Weinberg today called on the Department of Labor and the Murphy administration to open unemployment offices for in-person sessions so unemployed workers can have their claims settled.
Corrado said applicants are reporting their claims have been flagged as fraudulent, and they have to prove their identities before the funds will be released. Without in-person access to unemployment personnel, they are being directed to an online system that does not work.

TRENTON A major announcement on the state s reopening efforts amid the pandemic was teased by Gov. Phil Murphy on Sunday. As our key metrics improve and our vaccination progress continues, we’re ready to move forward, Murphy said on Twitter, ahead of a state briefing on Monday afternoon.
Sunday morning statistics showed 2.77 million New Jerseyans as fully vaccinated, as hospitalizations trended lower at 1,753 COVID-19 patients. The rate of transmission (Rt) as of Sunday was at 0.92, remaining below one for weeks now, as another indicator that the state has been on the path forward from COVID-19.

NEW JERSEY – Gov. Phil Murphy told CBS3 this weekend that he believes New Jersey can return to some semblance of normality by Memorial Day weekend.
Memorial Day weekend is considered the unofficial start of summer, the weekend when thousands pour into Jersey Shore and go to the famous bars, beaches and restaurants that appeal to tourists from around the world.
CBS3 noted in an interview with Murphy that President Biden set a goal to have enough vaccines available for all Americans by May 1, and the state asked the governor if the Fourth of July milestone for normality is realistic.
