Belfast City Council has agreed a district rate increase of 1.92% for the upcoming financial year.
It means the annual increase has stayed below 2% for the seventh consecutive year and is slightly down from 1.99%.
In real terms, the rate represents an average rise increase of less than £1 per month for domestic ratepayers and around £11 more per month for businesses.
The rate was ratified at a meeting of Belfast City Council (BCC) on Monday night.
Councillor Christina Black, chair of BCC s Strategic Policy and Resources Committee, which agreed the increase, said: It has been an exceptionally challenging and unprecedented year with the ongoing pandemic and the impact that has had on our city and business community, but I am pleased that despite these challenges, we have delivered cash savings of £1.2m without impacting our frontline service delivery - something which has been crucial to our ratepayers throughout the ongoing pandemic.
