Jett Morris was chosen to throw out the first pitch in a Cabot, Arkansas Memorial Day Little League Tournament to honor fallen firefighters. It was a pretty big deal to get asked – a huge responsibility for Jett who plays on the Spartan 10 and Under team.
Jett made a great pitch and as the catcher stood up he removed his mask, revealing his identity. Little did Jett know that the person wearing the catcher’s mask was actually his dad, Joe, who has been overseas with the Navy for a whole year.
Jett screamed, “DAD!” and ran full speed into the arms of his dad. Jett’s sisters Alexa and Saylor as well as his mom, Melissa, then joined him in the big family hug at home plate. It was by far, the most memorable ballgame everybody in attendance had ever been a part of.

On March 26th, 2021, an EF-4 tornado – just shy of the most-powerful ranking on the National Weather Service’s scale – ripped across Newnan…the city where Jackson and his wife, Denise were born, raised, met and married. At least 70 homes were completely destroyed, many others suffered major damage, and – all told – over 1700 structures were impacted and compromised.
We have received so many messages asking if Alan Jackson would come back to visit or if he would send a message. We ve got even better news.
Country Music icon Alan Jackson will return to his hometown next month as he headlines a special concert event to benefit relief efforts in Newnan, Georgia.

We finally got some nice weather last week. And perfect timing because Spring Football is in the air in Georgia! My ex-husband is he head coach at Cass High School in Bartow County. My oldest son, Connor, is an assistant coach there too. After a couple of weeks of practice, the Cass Colonels hosted Paulding County in a little Friday night scrimmage. Football games are one of the few times I can wrangle my family together at the same time. And before you ask, my ex-husband and I are still incredibly close (a little weird to some, but very normal for us). The two big things I took from the night were that I m so ready for football season AND flip-flops were NOT a good choice. The minute the sun went down.it was COLD!!!!!
