If Liz Cheney is the hare, her opponents in the race for Wyomingâs sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives are tortoises that are slowly closing the gap.
The question is whether those tortoises will get in each otherâs way as they head toward the finish line at the Aug. 16 primary election.
Following last weekâs debate in Casper all three of Cheneyâs closest competitors â state Rep. Tim Stubson, state Sen. Leland Christensen and Cheyenne attorney and Christian broadcasting network executive Darin Smith â said the same thing: âIâm the only candidate who can beat Liz Cheney.â
