KANSAS CITY HOMELESS PROTEST CAMP EASTER EVICTION COMETH!!! AUTHORITIES CONDEMN PUBLIC POOPING AT 12TH & OAK AMID COVID-19 HEALTH CRISIS!!!
Forgive us the redux post but as the local homeless crisis worsens there are a few deets that deserve further examination.
First and foremost, debate over activist leadership has emerged and recent reports confirm a great deal of criticism of a so-called KC Homeless Union.
Volunteers at the Westport encampment say lack of leadership has become a major issue. There has really been no organizer here. One that’s not on drugs just to be completely honest and that has been the biggest issue, a local artist said.

Protesters at the We Shall Not Be Moved rally on the south lawn of Kansas City s City Hall listen to speeches late Thursday afternoon decrying the potential sweep of the homeless encampment there.
The KC Homeless Union has been camped outside of City Hall since February 1. The city says it has to go because it has become a public health and safety problem.
Officials gave the eviction notice via the Abraham Lincoln statue in front of City Hall: those living at the homeless encampment had created an illegal campsite and if they are there past Sunday they could get arrested.

Remote workers: Expect to wait months for your Kansas City earnings tax refund Mike Hendricks, The Kansas City Star
Apr. 1 If you were counting on a Kansas City earnings tax refund, it s going to be a long wait.
Even if you filed today for a refund of the 1 percent withheld from your paycheck while you were working at home outside the city limits last year, it might be October before a check arrives in the mail.
Six months. That s two to three times as long as it usually takes for employees of Kansas City-based companies who regularly travel out of town or are based off site to get a refund of taxes paid for days they were not physically in the city, officials say.
