Mr Fabian Ntung, PLASIEC Chairman who made the disclosure on Monday in Jos, said that the timetable and guidelines would be officially released on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. By the powers conferred on us by the laws of Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Act 2010 as amended, we are duty bound to start preparations for the next elections. The elections would be for chairmen and councillors in all the 17 local governments of the state, he said. Ntung stated that the commission invited the leaders of the registered political parties to inform them of PLASIEC readiness to conduct the elections. The chairman stated that process would kick start with the release of election timetable and guidelines on May 18, which would run up to Saturday, 9th of October, 2021 when elections would have taken place.
