Yasmin s mascot is a winner at Slough s Queensmere centre

The competition to design a mascot attracted entries from a number of local schools. The judges included the shopping centre s manager Chris Shaw, Alex Long from British Land, Saad from Home Slough, Marcelo at Applied Live Art Studio and Lynsey Hellewell from Slough Council. Chris Shaw said: “Our aspiring young artist Yasmin’s design stood out to the judges because it exemplifies the message of community and togetherness, which has been ever more important during 2020. Moving forward into 2021 and beyond, we want to continue to celebrate the community of Slough and the considerable acts of kindness we have witnessed this year, and we know that Harmony the Heart will make the perfect companion.”

CCTV is set to be installed at Verdin Park NEW CCTV cameras are set to be installed in Verdin Park in an effort to clamp down on anti-social behaviour. Northwich residents raised concerns about safety in the park in Northwich Town Council’s Verdin Park consultation back in 2017, which looked at ways to improve the site. The park’s upgrade is now taking shape, with a new play area opened this autumn and a cycling route opened last year. Northwich Town Council and BID celebrate five years of work

PARTNERSHIP working between Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) and Northwich Town Council (NTC) is continuing to deliver benefits to the town, five years after the two organisations started collaborating on projects. During that time the Northwich BID and NTC have teamed up on numerous occasions to help make the town an even better place for businesses, workers, residents and visitors. This has included jointly funded events such as the seasonal Extravaganzas, ensuring the town has vibrant floral displays and raising the profile of Northwich through entering awards such as North West in Bloom and Great British High Streets. The town centre bodies have joined forces again recently too, completing a project to improve the landscaped area around the subway, undertake additional cleansing of the town and jet wash the pavements.
