With a thought of social corporate responsibility (SCR) in mind, leading pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturing company, Kentam Products Limited, on Thursday donated road traffic reflective vests to Mzuzu Police Station.
Kentam Products Limited administrator, Angella White, said during the donation ceremony that the gesture was meant to complement various campaigns that Malawi Police Service (MPS) is undertaking to reduce road accidents in the country.

“We decided to make this donation as one way of appreciating the great work that the Police is doing in enhancing security. For them to effectively do their job, they normally have to meet a huge budget which sometimes is unattainable.
Dan Church Aid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) in conjunction with Women Legal Resources Centre (WOLREC) on Tuesday organized a mock council meeting in Dowa District targeting youthful aspiring politicians from various Young Women Action Groups (YWAGs).
The aim of the meeting was to impart knowledge to the aspiring politicians how council meetings are done and also assuring them that everyone is eligible to handle a political position.

The meeting was organized under the project called Young Women in Active Politics (YWAP) designed to address the core problem of limited participation of young women in politics and equally in membership and leadership positions of political parties funded by European Union (EU).
Malawi’s leading mobile network company, Airtel Malawi, has said it is immensely elated by its exploits following indications that its subscription mark reached five million by December last year.
In turn, the multinational conglomerate has launched the ‘Airtel Yabeba’ promotion which will run from May 13 to August 15 as a thank you gesture.
The grand price that will be rewarded in August is K5 million; but, throughout the time frame of the promotion 48 subscribers would have become millionaires as a subscriber will be winning a million each week.

Also, throughout the promotion, various prizes including free minutes, Data and SMSs for use at night from 9 pm to 5 am valid for 3 days will be splashed to all customers who recharge with a minimum of K100 worth of airtime which automatically makes a subcriber qualify for the million kwacha prizes.
