MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Mon and Marion Counties in West Virginia and Clarion County in Pennsylvania from 7 a.m. Wednesday, December 16 through 7 a.m. Thursday, December 17.
“Seven to nine inches across Monongalia County, it may be a little higher in the ridges in the eastern part of the county,” NWS meteorologist Chris Leonardi said,” There’s still some uncertainty, there’s a reasonable possibility as little as 5 or as many as 10 inches in parts of the county.”
The West Virginia Division of Highways will treat and remove snow on select roads in the city. They are High Street, College Avenue, University Avenue and Collins Ferry Road, Burroughs Street, Stewart Street and Stewartstown Road, North Willey Street, Spruce Street, Pleasant Street, and Walnut Street. Citizens do not pay any higher for the DOH to do this.
